Coffee House Style

Soooooooo, I'm starting to fall in love with the "feel" of Coffee House. If you have experience the Coffee House, I think you would agree that it's rather relaxing. A time for reading, meeting friends, hanging out solo, daydreaming, or homework while sipping on a coffee product. I've recently started drinking White Chocolate Mocca from Starbucks. I'm not really a coffee-drinker due to caffeine sometimes having a reverse effect on me and making me sleepy. But I do like to hang out at Starbucks.

But back to the point, I love the designs of coffee house, rather it has a modern, neatly design, or just random pieces of furniture put together. But the color, brown, has stood out to me the most. Here are some pictures I have collected from the web that I now have on my desktop. It brings a comfort feeling when seeing them.

The two below are pics I took directly from Starbucks.

I original wanted to decorate my kitchen in University of Memphis apparel but now I'm leaning more on the Coffee Shop style.

HGTV: 350 square feet studio apartment

I love this apartment.  I could live this way. Small space rooms and studio apartments are my favorite because so much freedom of designing can be done. You are not confinement but several rooms yet you can create rooms with curtains, bookcases, and whatever creative styles come to mind.

Loft Bed. Perfect for a Studio Apartment

I saw this bed at Big Lots. I really like it. I think it would be perfect for a studio/efficiency apartment. It definitely would save room especially in a 300 to 600 square feet room. I don't think I would use the ladder that came with the bed but probably a step ladder. (My knees and ankles my hurt sometimes...lol.)

How creativity blossoms through being broke! Lol (DIY)

So I was straightening my desk and had mail, paperwork, and etc. stacked everywhere but it was clearly unorganized. I cannot focus it get things done effectively if things are messy and unorganized. I have to have order in everything I do and organized. And so I decided I wanted to go buy some stackable trays. I look at my bank account to see if I had money to spare and saw that I didn't. Lol. I looked up Office Depot to have an idea of the prices.

And I was reassured I didn't need to buy these write away, (says the unemployed person.) So I said to myself, "Man, I'll make me some stack trays!" I grab some Avon boxes from my mother and grab other things around the house to help me construct.
Before
Here I have push pins, scissor, tape measure, paperclips, tape, and of course, boxes.
After!

The push pins and tape is to keep the shelves sturdy and strong. Although paper items can only be used for light weight purposes.

Only one side the shelves had a flap. I took a paperclip and stuck it through the flaps in a U shape and twisted the ends together. I wish both sides of the shelves had flaps; the paperclip was very sturdy!

And here's the finish product in use! I thought about putting stickers or spray painting the outside of it but I had friend who came up with an even better idea. She suggested getting the wall paper on it! When I do, I will update the blog on this!

The 'S' Table

Red is my favorite color!

I really like the 'S' shape coffee table. It has a modern look and because of it's style, it doesn't need a center piece.

My obsession with New York pics.

Tiny hide-away bedroom

Bright, warm colors in the tiny hide-away bedroom. Curtains create the hide-away privacy which is ideal for a studio apartment.

The chalkboard wall.

I love the chalkboard wall. It seems to bring 'fun' to the room. I think I would use it to let friends write on it, write things to remember, and bible scriptures. Maybe I would call it the "Message Wall"!

Separation and Privacy

As you can see, I'm all about separation and privacy. The L-shape sectional sofa and the shelves behind it helps draw the separation in the room. This is perfect for a studio apartment.

The pic below has a shad on the side of it. The shade was installed from the ceiling. However, some ceilings maybe too high. This is when your creativity kicks in (for those of you who are in touch with this side.)

This could definitely be a great idea for dormitory room; perfect for privacy.
